Marion RahnA graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Vocal Performance Program, Marion started her musical career performing contemporary and classical music for numerous special occasions. She also performed leading roles in numerous musicals and operas and wrote and performed many of her own songs in the folk genre, performing them at poetry readings, special events and restaurants. Her vocal career further developed in the territory of Nunavut, where she fell in love with the Blues. In Nunavut, she performed in the bar circuit as well as for special events. She now performs a variety of genres of music, including Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Rock at different venues in Southern Ontario. She is a founding member of the jazz duo “Uptown Sound”, and heads a Blues and R&B band called “Marion Rahn and the Sugar Band". She will be launching her first CD “Boomers 101” in June 2007 with Johnny Nixon, a talented and accomplished guitarist and recording artist.
